Update: There is a weather advisory tonight so the MUG tonight has been cancelled. We'll try again next week!

NOTE: This is a special MUG. It's on a different day and at a different meeting location. We're checking out Whistlestop Cafe again and on a Thursday because that's one of the days that they're open late. We'd really appreciate if more people could come so we can gauge the level of interest in meeting regularly on Thursdays.

So remember, the MUG next week is Thursday and it's just three days after the regular monthly meeting. That's THURSDAY, November 9, 2017. And it's at Whistlestop Cafe at 141 George Street in Peterborough, Ontario. It's on the SE corner of where Charlotte meets George.

If you're planning on attending this MUG, please POST BELOW. It helps people coming from out of town to know if anybody is coming. By the way, you don't have to be there right at 7 pm, that's just a suggested time. We fully expect people to show up at different times. If you're not coming at 7-8 pm though, let us know roughly when you're coming so we can wait for you.

Synchronize your watches!! <^8# See you there!

I remember our PLUGs at Whistlestop fondly, so I'm coming to support the change in venue. I expect to be there around 8. Love those sofas at the back.

Forgot to add that I'll be there. Expect probably around the same time, too, just after 8 pm.

I hope to show to this one, I replaced the Megabeast laptop with a Surface Pro so I am a little more mobile :) And it's running Ubuntu 16.04 in the background no need for dual boot / VM's.

You mean a Linux subsystem inside Windows 10?  ;D That's cool and all but I don't think it's comparable to running a full Linux desktop. If you're just a terminal fiend, I'm sure it's fine. But do bring it. I admit that Surface Pros look cool and sound cool but haven't seen one up close. If I had the money, I'd definitely get one.

Before wayland, before X, there was only the CLI it's a warm and comfortable place for me :) And I use it every single day with my work and am going to be expanding that usage as I have permission from my Chief Security Officer to Red Team (ethical hack) our internal servers.

Show and tell is always good.  I'm looking for a laptop and have been considering ThinkPad T or Surface laptops.  I'll try to be there, also.

Ugh. I thought it was today. I'm here by myself. Guess I should read the dates more closely. FYI, the couch is gone; it's all bench seating.

I'm going to have to start adding a special part just for you, "No, Mike, not *that* Thursday. The *other* one." :) Thanks for checking out the seating. I think they have regular seats, too, but the booth seating is benches, no?

They had some bench seating at larger tables, but there are certainly comfortable places for a group to sit at. Larger tables than at Tim's, but no couches :(.

I am hoping to be there, but I won't be able to head down until my wife gets home from work, sometime around 9:45.  Hopefully you guys are still there, I didn't look at the date correctly and ate poutine all alone last week. :)

You and Mike both seem to have this problem with looking at dates! But yes, I imagine we'll still be there. The reason we picked Thursday at Whistlestop is that it's one of the nights they're open much later (24 hours, I think). They're not open very late on Mondays.

You have to stay long enough to say hi to Scott though. Just take an afternoon nap before you come :)
