Older Russia Spy Ring in Canada Movie - The Iron Curtain

I stumbled upon this good, 1948 movie about the Soviet cypher-clerk Igor Gouzenko, who spilled the beans about a Russian spy network in Canada during the years from 1943-1945.

I vaguley remember the name Gouzenko being something to do with Russian spying.  This movie provided some most interesting details about what it was all about.

I'm pretty sure I saw this film when I was 8, and it was a topic of conversation at our house. Through most of my young life, in all seasons, my family and my grandfather walked through Gage Park to see the double bill at the Delta movie theater. Often we didn't know what was going to be on. So I saw about 100 films a year.

On the way home we stopped at a drug store if the weather was warm and got ice cream cones. We walked to my grandfather's house after, and if it was winter, we listened to Foster Hewitt call the Leaf game on the radio. Sometimes the movies were discussed.

The movie stirs memories and it feels familiar in a very long time ago way. When we got a tv, all these Saturday evenings stopped unfortunately.
