As discussed in our last PLUG meeting we are going to boldly go where we have been before. Instead of ELAN games (not EB games) *looking at you Mike* I thought we could try Retro's e-Sports Bar instead. -

Located at
172 Simcoe Street
Peterborough, Ontario K9H 2H7

Right next to the bus station.

Hope to see you there!

Also if you have not already added / liked check out the Plug facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/groups/plugintolinux/

P.s. See the attached pdf file for the first draft of our poster!

Was going to start asking you to do this in April but that's cool that you're doing it now, Brian :) Exciting to be have a new location! Will we have a private room like we did at E-lan? Not that we need to, really, as long as it's not too noisy. Just curious. Hoping they have the same snazzy black lights :D

Flyer looks really good. I suggest maybe using a QR code that links directly to the website. And I'd suggest maroon (like the logo on the website) instead of the yellow but I guess you're trying to match Tux.

I see Kawartha Credit Union as a sponsor. Is that because you're hoping they will cover our $2/month fee and/or chequing fees?

Good work on the Poster,Brian!

Perhaps there should be a line on the poster, to say that Linux is an alternative computer OS, to Windows or Mac OS?

KCU is up to you Jason if you can swing it you have the account and the contacts there, As for the flyer it's been updated to version 2 as above.

As for the alternative to windows / macOS we live in a world where android is a household name so to save precious space on the page I don't think we need it, that is what the site / forums / facebook is for :)

I think if you asked the average person with a smartphone, they wouldn't know that android has anything to do with Linux. I would bank that half them aren't even aware that their phone uses android - they would just think "it's not an iphone" or "it's a galaxy", etc.

I don't think the general public/computer user, has any idea what Linux is.
I think the poster should have something to say that Linux is a computer operating system, that can replace the Windows or Mac OS.

Not sure if this is a sign-up list anymore, but wanted to note that I will be coming. Is it still at 7 pm, Brian?

And from the map it looks like it's behind Dollarama beside the Bus Terminal. Is that correct?

So, to be Clear: The MUG meetings are going to be at 172 Simcoe Street?

Assuming this is a signup, I am intending to go as long as there are others going, and I'll arrive around 8. Bill, I hope you're coming because I want to see your new laptop in action.

Second Floor, yes it's just to the right of the bus station on the same side of the road.

7pm is correct as this follows the same timeline as your regularly scheduled MUG.

Sorry I didn't make it tonight. Was running errands and didn't get home until 8 pm. By the time I would've gotten back on a bus downtown, it would've been past 9. Btw, how late are those guys open?

It made for a good night we were able to get a new face out for the meetup as well. There are tons of unmet linux nerds in town :)

Andrew the owner was also very welcoming, he was off in the back working on the creation of an RPG game of his own as we all chatted.
