Ok guys, just reposting this info, due to the PLUG website going down and the loss of recent postings.
Thanks Jason for the fix and being able to restore most of the Forum postings.

So, I will host this week's Zoom video chat.  Hopefully Jason can email his group of PLUG members, the URL address for the Thursday evening Zoom chat.  I will send Jason the info about 15 minutes before 7:30 pm.
You can log into the Zoom chat  at anytime. You can log in later than 7:30 pm, if that better suits you. I usually last until about 9 pm before I log myself, off.

If anyone new, wants to join the Thursday video chat, just post your interest to join, here, and I will send the Zoom chat URL address, to you as a personal message in this PLUG Forum, by 7:15 pm Thursday.

The post that Bill made says Zoom so I would assume Zoom. I was suggesting you guys try out Jitsi this week so that you have time to work out the kinks if we try it next week. I prefer open source with communications software because it's unlikely to have back doors.

Members: If there is any discrepancy of details between the email I sent out before today and Bill's details above, his post supersedes my email. Bill is hosting, he'll send me the chat link and I'll forward that to everyone via email about 10-15 minutes before the meeting at 7:30 pm.

As Bill said, the official MUG ends at 9 pm. Then Bill can pass the hosting off to me if anyone is left to chat.

If you're a johnny-come-lately, just click on the link and you'll see if anybody's left. If you want to make sure you can join the PLUG, do so by 9 pm.

Very nice seeing everyone in last evenings Zoom video group chat.

How about we try the open source, Jitsi video group chat, for next weeks PLUG Mug?  You don't need to download or use any program to join in the video chat.  You just click on the url address, that the Host will post,  and your browser will bring up the group chat.

FYI, I counted 10 participants on yesterday's Zoom MUG; a record I believe. Two days ago three of us did a Jitsi test. In my case I tried three different iMacs, a Dell xps laptop, an iPad and an Android tablet. Only the iMacs had problems; both audio and video worked in all other devices. Given that few of us have Macs and that I am likely the only PLUG member with an iMac, I expect that anyone who wants to participate will be able to.

Scott has a Mac but I believe it's a laptop if that's what I saw and it wasn't just faked for us. ;-) Does 'anyone' include you? Would you use one of the other computers to chat with?

And 10 people chatting is a great number. We might have to start making use of the 'raised hand' functionality soon. :)

Yes, I can participate on Jitsi, just not from a desktop computer. iPad works and so does my LG Android tablet and my laptop.
