That baffles me since Cub is basically Ubuntu 16.04 + the Chrome customizations.

Are you sure about that? The website says it's based on 14.04.4 with Linux Kernel 4.2, assuming we're talking about 1.0 RC. I dont' see any other version, but please point it out if there is one.

Nope, you're right. The updated kernel had me confused. And I think that the final version will be based on 16.04.
