At the last MUG, three of us were reminiscing about when we used to have MUGs at Whistle Stop Cafe. We stopped going there because Whistle Stop started closing earlier on Monday nights. Apparently, they're open 24 hours on Thursday nights so we're considering moving MUG meetings to Thursday nights there on a trial basis starting next week.
Comments?
I thouvht that place had become a bit of a dive and was dirty and that is why it was droped, as a Mug locatiion?

Nah, it was the hours. Though we probably remarked on it being a bit of a dive at times. And to be honest, that Tim Horton's location has been a bit of a dive what with the flies and steaming the whole place at 10:30 pm for their cleaning. Mike and Bob like the idea. I'm cool with it. It's Bohemian, no doubt, but at least they have all-day breakfast :)
Just saying but either day and either place is fine by me. Just so you know.

Lol. Have you ever been to a MUG? At least it will be more central and maybe we can coax you out.
Let me know if you guys start doing this, at either location. I am just down by Kenner, and although I am stuck with my little one most of the night, I would be able to come say hi a few times a month after my wife is home around 9:40/10:00.
Is this the Scott we all miss so much at meetings? It's been a long time and I see newbie beside his name. :)
The "other one" with a Mac?
"

Even so, he is still a nice person.
So what's happening this week - MUG tonight at Tim's or Thursday at the Whistlestop?

Bob should probably make a decision on this soon. I'm chatting with him on Thursday so I'll bring it up again then.
No one was there, I had to eat my pulled pork poutine all alone. :(

Sorry to hear that, Scott. Bob hadn't made a decision on it yet. The MUG this week was on Monday as is the one for next week. Always check the announcement to make sure there a change to when we meet before dropping by so you won't have to eat alone again :) Or if you're out and about and looking for company, text us. My number is on my Facebook page but for those without Facebook, just message me here and I'll give it to you.
Important Update!
Bob posted a message here (http://forums.plugintolinux.ca/index.php/topic,324.msg1783.html#msg1783) about moving PLUG MUGs to Thursdays, here. Though he hasn't commented on my reply yet, I'm pretty sure he meant to say the PLUG meeting would be on
Monday, November 6, and we will have a MUG
a few days after on
Thursday, November 9. Those who show can have a say in whether we will continue to meet on Thursdays or Mondays.
I seem to remember eating poutine in a MUG meeting. Is this the place where you park on the street?
That would be the one, William. The Whistle Stop specializes in poutine; they have lots of varieties.
Absolutely right, Jason! Good catch! Wish I hadn't been so inattentive... We'll see you at tonight's MUG...
