Quote from: ssfc72 on Yesterday at 04:05:53 AMOh, ok I see the Like icon, now, in the message.  Yes, I see the Like, when I am logged in.

Thanks, Bill. What I meant was if you could see the number of 'likes' you've received. I clicked 'Like' on your post so I wondered if you could see that.

The 'Like' button is a new feature in SMF and I thought it'd be a nice boost for people who post to know that someone saw or enjoyed their post even if they didn't have anything thoughtful to say. I posted about the new feature elsewhere - I hope members saw it or the 'Unread Posts" feature isn't working very well! :D

Thanks for the info, Bill. Btw, can you see the "likes" you get on your messages? I found when I logged in, I couldn't see them but wasn't sure if was just an issue with me or everyone.

I wonder if the satellite goes out at certain times of the year. I've heard that snow can block signals.

That certainly is crappy service though.

I sometimes lost internet access but then I reboot the router and things are fine again. Cosmic rays. ;) At least it's been good since Cogeco ran a new cable, something Distributel wasn't willing to pay them to do (or even test it). Weird that you're not getting good service in the city, are others in Lindsay experiencing the same thing? Might be worth making a complaint to the CRTC or the ombudsman? I think there is one for internet, phone, etc services. I know, takes a lot of time.

Buster, you there?

Sorry Jason. I've been digging and gardening. Just so you know, earth is about 3 times heavier than it used to be, and time has speeded up so it takes me 3 or 4 days to complete tasks that used to take one morning. It's not just global warming! The cosmos is breaking. You heard it here first.

The movie was based on a book titled, Losing The Signal.

The book is carried by the Peterborough Library.

The book is also available for reading at, archive.org,  you can download the book for reading for about 14 days but you need to have Adobe Digital Editions software installed. This software is only for the Windows OS, but I was able to get it to work with WINE, on my Mint Distro.

It would be attractive to people in the rural areas of the Lindsay area, which typically have poor/slow internet service or no service.

Even in town, my service which uses the Cogeco system, goes out or becomes intermittent for a number of hours or even days at least once a year.

Does Lindsay not have better options? That's certainly not a bad speed but a bit on the expensive side.

I couldn't find any info on the StarLink website about the download/upload speeds but on other websites it says 150 Mbps download.
