Starlink has a special discount pricing for the Lindsay area.
$199 for the hardware ( regular price is around $700) and $140/month for the service.
Great price for the hardware but the service...Yikes! What's the speed? Probably a great option for those for which high-speed cable or telephone cable access isn't available.
I couldn't find any info on the StarLink website about the download/upload speeds but on other websites it says 150 Mbps download.

Does Lindsay not have better options? That's certainly not a bad speed but a bit on the expensive side.
It would be attractive to people in the rural areas of the Lindsay area, which typically have poor/slow internet service or no service.
Even in town, my service which uses the Cogeco system, goes out or becomes intermittent for a number of hours or even days at least once a year.
I wonder if the satellite goes out at certain times of the year. I've heard that snow can block signals.
That certainly is crappy service though.
I sometimes lost internet access but then I reboot the router and things are fine again. Cosmic rays. ;) At least it's been good since Cogeco ran a new cable, something Distributel wasn't willing to pay them to do (or even test it). Weird that you're not getting good service in the city, are others in Lindsay experiencing the same thing? Might be worth making a complaint to the CRTC or the ombudsman? I think there is one for internet, phone, etc services. I know, takes a lot of time.
