I`ll have to check threw my donation notification emails but I think it was 6 or 7. I sent an email to everyone except one person whose email bounced. If you're that person (you`d know because you didn`t receive a thanks), THANK YOU as well!

No, only when you want to save money.

You can buy replacement spools with line already wrapped.  Or, you can buy replacement line, and wrap the line yourself.  The "adapter" holds the spool so that you can turn it to wrap the line without twisting the line.

That's a goodly sum! Two years is excellent. I think it should probably be anonymous. But be sure to thank people individually through your email.

Thanks to all those who contributed.

I'm still expecting one more donation to come in but I wanted to update you.

We have received $265 in donations for hosting the PLUG website. That covers hosting fees for 25 months! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

I'm unsure if I should post the donor names as it might single out those who haven't donated. Thoughts?

Update: I`ll have to find the exact number of donors again to calculate the average but I can let you know that the highest donation was for $95. You know who you are and I owe you coffee and doughnut next time we meet.

I categorically refuse to accept blame for this. :)

But now she knows what a great writer her father-in-law is. I keep telling you that you should do an ebook compilation. "Adventures in Computing: Stories From a Senior PC User". Or something less complicated. I'm not an editor.

There seem to be a lot more scammer baiters on YouTube. Or maybe the algorithm feels more of them to me. I love it when they waste a scammer's time even if they don't erase their computers. But that's the icing on the cake! I've seen ones where the scam baiter turns the table on the scammer by getting them to give him their money. And then they donate it to a charity.

It's horrible what these guys do, especially the romance scams. I know somebody who sent money to a guy online because she thought he cared for her. They don't do it all at once; they seduce them and then the money ask hits. I pointed out he was lying to her when she said he was out on a ship in the mid-Atlantic but still somehow talking to her on his cell phone. He claimed he was on his way to see her.

General Discussion / Re: Linux at Facebook???

That is truly bizarre. Especially given that their content is likely on Linux servers (probably through AWS or Azure) as the article notes. There certain are Linuxes that can be used for hacking, but also for black and white hats and everything in between (e.g. Kali). Somebody at Facebook doesn't have a brain or they find it easier to ban anything with Linux in the title rather than parse out which groups might be engaged in cyberattacks.
