I had noticed recently that my desktop computer fan was running full out at times when the computer wasn't doing anything that would be straining it.
This box is an older computer running the Windows Vista OS.
I finally got around to taking the cover off and looking inside the box.
See attached image.
In between the fan blades, at the bottom of the image, you can see a small area where 2 heatsink fins are visible.
The rest of the white stuff, between the fan blades is cat hair.
I am surprised the computer didn't shut down from the heat!
Yikes! Do you plan on making mittens with the cat hair once removed? :)
We destroyed a microwave with cat hair on the fan intake once. No cats now - no problem with fan intakes.
Actually, I was surprised there wasn't a lot more loose cat hair, all around, inside the box.
I can't remember opening up this computer, before, to check for dust/cat hair.
Wow! Your CPU fan swallowed a hairball! <^8#
That's the cleanest dirt I've ever seen!! <^8#
