Title: Neil Young concert on Chex & CTV Sunday 9 pm
Post by: ssfc72 on December 09, 2017, 06:30:04 PM
Neil's concert from last Friday, in Omemee, is going to be re-broadcast on Chex TV and CTV at 9 pm this Sunday.

I have got my notebook computer setup with my usb OTA (over the air) TV Tuner dongle (a Kworld, model UB435-Q), and TV rabbit ear antenna, to receive the HD digital TV signal, and record it to my notebook hard drive. :-)

So, with commercials, the Neil Young Omemee concert, on the TV was 2 hrs long.
I used the Kaffeine video software, to work with thw usb HD TV Tuner dongle, to capture the video.  Kaffeine saved the file as a  .m2t video file and it was about 17 GB in size.

I used the Handbrake software program to convert the .m2t file, to a .mp4 file, so that my HD TV could play it, when loaded onto a usb flash drive.
Handbrake actually converted the .m2t file, to a .m4v video file and I just renamed the file to .mp4, and it played just fine on my HD TV.
The Handbrake conversion took about 2 hours, on my 11" HP notebook.
The resulting .m4v file was 5.9 GB in size, so I had to format the usb flash drive to NTFS, in order to  get that large a file, to be accepted by the usb flash drive.
