Title: Printers for Linux??
Post by: ssfc72 on January 14, 2019, 12:11:13 PM
So, i know there is good suuport with HP printers under Linux, but HP cripples their print catridges with chips that prevent print cartridges from printing, once their expiry date has run out.

So I definately want to avoid buying HP printers.

What other brand of printer works well, under Linux?

I have had several Brother laser printers, including the HL-2270DW that I presently use in my office and home. Works flawlessly, at least with Ubuntu and Mint. My office setup is direct; home setup through a Mac Time Capsule. Both were detected without doing anything special.

Thanks for the info, Mike!
I think the CUPS web page may have a list of printers that work under Linux, but the list may not have the latest printers?
