I have to say that the CBC website is very transparent (https://www.cbc.ca/mycbc/cbc-and-your-data-1.5514726#howToManageYourCookies) in its use of cookies (not the munchy kind). The page here (https://www.cbc.ca/mycbc/viewcookies) even breaks down what each cookie is for by their name. Colour me impressed. More websites should do the second part, breaking down what each cookie is for. Then you could just stop certain cookies and allow others.
What I'm more impressed with is that I don't have most of these cookies, and I don't recall setting these. So Firefox in Ubuntu isn't allowing these cookies by default. Same with Chrome, except there I think they're being blocked by uBlock Origin.

There were two lists of cookies, I believe. Functional cookies and targeting cookies. Did you check through them all? I'm impressed if you did. Firefox (or any modern browser) probably blocks the targeting cookies by default and/or Privacy Badger if you're using that.

This must be the first time I've seen a website actually lay out what all their cookies are and the purpose of each. From what they say, they hope that readers (or viewers) will allow some cookies so the site works better and perhaps allow some analytics which a lot of sites need to have an idea of how many visitors there are and where they're coming from. That information is collected in the aggregate, unlike targeted advertising cookies.
