Title: The Code: Linux documentary (2001)
Post by: Jason on November 10, 2017, 10:05:45 PM
Although dated, I found this hour-long Linux documentary (https://youtu.be/XMm0HsmOTFI) on YouTube quite interesting. It covers the early years of Linux, talks about Linus Torvalds, Richard Stallman, and other early GNU/Linux pioneers as well as the differences between the Open Source and Free Software movements. Linus' parents were even interviewed providing insight into his younger years and the type of person he is.

Update: Do turn on the subtitles as Mike reminded me below. His parents speak Finnish as are some of the news bits, but there are English subtitles (and in many other languages).

Thanks Jason. I enjoyed it. I didn't realize at first that there were subtitles, and I missed some of the dialogue by Linus' parents.

Oops. I forgot to mention that. I did some same thing but realized a few minutes in. Thanks for mentioning that. I'll update the original post.
