In a previous MUG we were discussing the production of nuclear fuel pellets in the context of GE-Hitachi wanting to produce them in their Peterborough plant (which already assembles fuel bundles from the pellets). So I thought these videos might be interested. From what I can see of the videos, it looks like safety is of top concern and in one scene you can see a technician checking the enrichment of uranium oxide before it's baked to create the pellets. It doesn't seem to be dusty at all and she's not wearing any type of breathing apparatus, just gloves and the typical lab coat, and I think eye protection.

The first video I found quite fascinating but it uses animation to show the steps. The second video shows the actual equipment used.
I find nuclear power fascinating, not scary. I think if more people knew more about it they wouldn't find it scary either.
