Title: SpaceX night time splashdown
Post by: ssfc72 on May 02, 2021, 07:17:37 AM
A nice short video clip of the splashdown of the ISS crew members.
I didn't realize that SpaceX were doing a return to earth, the same way as Apollo did.  I guess I sort of thought they would return to earth with a glider, similar to the way the space shuttle did it.

I wonder how hot Resilience when it splashed in.

It's not as cool as the space shuttle certainly but it's interesting to watch the first stage of their rocket come back to Earth and then land on the drone ship. You can find quite a few of those on YouTube.

Btw, the Core stage of Artemis I has arrived at Kennedy Space Center and will be joined with the rest of the rocket. I think it's supposed to launch later this year for an unmanned trip to the moon and back.
