That's amazing, Bil. Thanks for sharing. I believe that Carl Sagan used this explanation in the original Cosmos series not too long after in the 80s. I don't know if he gave credit to the Eames's for coming up with it. Sagan also used the calendar to explain the history of the universe which is also pretty amazing. Both demonstrations really show how unimportant we are to the universe but also how unique our position is in it being the only place that has life, that we know of.
