digitizing boxed DVD movies to access them from a computer or Rpi

Is there easy to use Linux software that will allow one to digitize the DVD movies I own? I thought it might be useful to do this to make them easier to access, as I could then put them on a home server.

I believe that Handbrake has been used to do this. I don't know if there are others.

I think I have used 2 different programs but they may be for the Windows OS.

DVDSanta - I used to use this a lot for ripping dvd movies and I believe the version I used was free. But that was years ago and it is a paid program, now.  It worked very well.  It copied the dual layer dvd movie disc and cruched it, to fit on a standard DVD.

DVDFab - I believe I also have used this program in the distant past and it worked well.  Again this is for the Windows OS .  I did get it to install on Mint Linux using VMplayer. There is a 30 day free trial version.
