I found this interesting article on the Distrowatch website.

https://distrowatch.com/weekly.php?issue=20180820#news

The article covers some different command line programs, to help with resource usage on your computer.
Mint 20.3 on a Dell 14" Inspiron notebook, HP Pavilion X360, 11" k120ca notebook (Linux Lubuntu), Dell 13" XPS notebook computer (MXLinux)
Cellphone Samsung A50, Koodo pre paid service

Neat or should I say nice? ;-)

It can be fun to play with this stuff but do be careful. The default kernel is pretty good at balancing tasks normally so using these kind of features without thinking about them can actually make your system slower if you're not careful.

Of course, from what I can see it looks like these are just one-time use and are gone when you reboot your system so no permanent harm can be done. You might when you have you intensive background tasks that seem to be hogging all the resources, this might be a good way to give your system a bit of pep.
