My Realtec RTL 8812au usb wifi dongle, seems to work fine under Win7.

It does not work well from PopOS or any other Linux Distro, at this time.  I am still investigating the problem.

It has been about a month since I installed Pop!_OS on my home computer. Overall, I still like it, but I have discovered one new thing that I don't like. It relates to Pop!_Shop, the software installer. It works OK, but it doesn't give you information about what it's doing at any moment, other than a progress bar. Synaptic is much more informative.

What information are you looking for? I haven't used Synaptic in ages.

In any case, it sounds like elementary, just a progress bar. I think that Software Manager isn't much more informative though. Can you install Synaptic in Pop?

Yes, you can install Synaptic in Pop. The information I would be looking for is what it is doing at the moment (downloading or installing a particular package).
