Hey Folks!

For anyone interested, this weekend is "Field Day" in the Amateur Radio world. This event started as an emergency preparedness exercise where groups would test setting up antennas and radios on emergency power and making contacts with as many people as they could over 24 hours.

This continues today, while also being a social and public awareness event. If you have ever been interested in amateur radio, wireless communications, digital modes and backup communications like MeshTastic or point to point wireless networks you should come check it out and say hi. No license, or fee required just show up and say hi.

We will be operating all weekend at Newhall park on Lock St in Peterborough. Come say hi!

More info at ve3pbo.ca, especially under Events.

Hi Scott.  I hope to setup at the Old Mill Park in Lindsay on Saturday for a few hours in the afternoon.
I will just be running with a mag mount HF antenna on my car.
I quess I will acting as the Lindsay VHARA Club this year.
I don't know yet if I will get my radio station working because when I tried to tune up my mobile station a few weeks ago on 20 Metres, the SWR was was way too high, with the antenna set for the correct length.
I hope to try the mobile antenna again today.

As a note to anyone interested, the Field Day contest runs 24 hrs, from 2 pm Saturday to 2 pm Sunday.
