It's a bit late but I still see some old links out in search engines like https://beta.plugintolinux.ca/forum/index.php/topic,1294.0.html . I've set it up so that an address like that will redirect to https://plugintolinux.ca/forum/index.php/topic,1294.0.html as well as just https://beta.plugintolinux.ca to https://plugintolinux.ca .

It's not quite the way I like it. Sometimes the beta part will be shown in the address afterward and sometimes it won't. I'm still learning how to write proper .htaccess files which tell hosts how to do rewrite URLs. :D I'll keep working on it. Either way, those old addresses will point to where someone should be instead a 404 error.

Yeah, I would expect most have. But it's not for us. It's for search engines that may still have old links consisting of those beginning with beta.plugintolinux.ca... to various topics. Before, the user would just see an error message. Now it'll take them where they need to go. I updated my initial post on this topic to make it more clear.
