It looks like the base will be upgraded soon. According to this posting, it's normally upgraded after the first point release for Ubuntu (i.e. 20.04.1) which was just released. You should get a notification to upgrade soon if you haven't already (assuming it's still on your computer).

The download for Neon is dated yesterday. So that's probably the 20.04 version. Let us know if you receive a prompt to upgrade if you still have it.

That would have been interesting. Sorry Jason, I sent the distro to its reward in distro heaven today. Ah well.

I installed the latest version as a guest but alas, it's still using 18.04. But it's only been a day since the point release went out.

Found this thread in their forums. Doesn't sound as is they are very close to an upgrading path.

Hmm. I'm not sure. It doesn't say how close they are or how long the preview process normally lasts, just that testing started in early July. You can try upgrading to the preview release at the link they give here. In the thread you linked, someone asked when a release candidate (RC) would be out and if you could upgrade the preview to it. A reply was only given for the latter.

Upgrade to 20 should be available now.

Not that I'm doubting you but I'm curious as to how you know this.

It's noted front and centre on the KDE Neon web page.

I swear that wasn't there before when I looked last. But I also notice, at least on my monitor, the version number is hard to see. White text doesn't show up well with the background they've chosen. Glad to see they upgraded the core. I might give Neon a try next time around. I don't think there's a huge difference between the version of Plasma that Kubuntu uses and Neon but it'd be nice to brag and tell everyone I have the latest greatest Plasma. ;-)

As far as I can tell, it isn't really any different from Kubuntu. So I don't not like it.
