The entire 'Human Eco System' has been drastically altered by a smaller than microscopic change in the structure of an infinitesimally  tiny virus. Big surprises come in small packages. Astonishing and wonderful, if only it wasn't killing us.  :)

I doubt anyone fully understands the integrated nature of the economy in today's world, just as we don't understand fully the natural ecological system, or what's left of it. Repairs are difficult when we have no blueprint or solid comprehension.

The writing has been on the wall for awhile in Alberta, and diversification should have been encouraged for decades. But this is going to be painful for both Alberta and Canada. Ah well. My mother always said, "It will all come out in the wash."
Growing up from childhood and becoming an adult is highly overrated.
