Welcome to the website for the Peterborough Linux User Group or PLUG. We're so glad you stopped by! This particular PLUG is located in the quiet city of Peterborough, Ontario, Canada (population approx. 81,000) which is located about two hours NE of Toronto.

These meetings are held at Applewood Retirement Residence, 1500 Lansdowne Street West in Peterborough, Ontario at 7 pm. Free wireless access is available at the meeting so you can bring your devices. Watch this website for the latest meeting announcement which is posted a week before. Although meetings are free to attend, we ask you to buy a membership after you've attended a few meetings to help cover the room rental. You can purchase an annual membership for $35 at any of our meetings - cash only, please.

PLUG is made up of friendly and smart people who share their knowledge and help each other solve problems. Each month we have a member or two presenting on a variety of Linux topics that include various distributions, desktop environments, desktop and server software, hardware and sometimes programming. Occasionally, we have an outside vendor present. We're quite diverse in our personalities and interests but what we have in common is our love and excitement for the world's best operating system.

We also have a forum where you can register and post your problems, ask questions or just tell us about your favourite distribution. You'll even find off-topic posts with discussions about politics, current events or even get movie recommendations!

We hope to meet you soon!
