Watched the Sir John A. MacDonald / George Brown movie on CBC last night, which shows the political battles up to Confederation. Pretty good. The arguments in the house were wild and funny. A bit of our political history. Should be available for download somewhere for our political junkies.

Sorry, this post was off topic from the provincial election thread so I moved it here.

Anyway, that sounds really interesting. I don't know if the demand is enough for somebody to have copied it to the torrent sites. Never know though. I think I found Prairie Giant: The Tommy Douglas Story from a torrent site originally.

It's called "John A: Birth of a Country"

You should be able to watch it full screen right here, at least for awhile.Anytime video at the moment. Out put to a TV screen might be nice.

Thanks for sharing. Definitely on my "to-watch" list. I love this story:

"He said himself that the country would rather have 'John A.' drunk than George Brown sober." ( http://www.canadachannel.ca/macdonald/index.php/John_A._Macdonald_-_Trivia_and_Stories )

I heard this quote before but found it the source above. I was surprised he said it of himself.
