Ubuntu on Windows 10 ?????

What do you make of this article? http://www.zdnet.com/article/microsoft-and-canonical-partner-to-bring-ub...

Why would Microsoft want to have Ubuntu running on Windows 10? Is this just part of their strategy to convince people that Microsoft loves Linux?

At first, I thought this was an early April Fools joke. But it looks to be true. But before you get too excited, it won't be offering Unity. It's meant for CLI developer tools, many of which probably already run in Windows 10 (see article below). So Microsoft is doing it for the developer community. It's not like they're going to lose money. It's probably to keep developers from leaving Windows for the better tools in Linux. And as William pointed out at a presentation, there is already some support for this using third-party tools. Microsoft might just be making them more interoperable.
