Ubuntu 12.04 the new LTS on the block and its new interface options
In this presentation, Michael Fox will introduce you to the major changes in Ubuntu 12.04 from 11.10, and some of the new desktop interface and customization options. Two desktop interface options originally introduced with Linux Mint will be covered: Cinnamon and Mate; both now work with Ubuntu. On the Unity side he will introduce the new scopes and lenses, the Heads Up Display (HUD, a new way of interacting with application menus), and myUnity, a new tool for customizing the interface. Finally, for those interested in Gnome 3, a live extensions website for installing and uninstalling gnome shell extensions will be demonstrated.
